MRPCAP

Mold-Rite Plastics was incorporated in 1976; we started with five used injection molding machines and six full time employees, in a 7,200 square foot building. We moved in 1979 to a 22,500 square foot building with twelve used injection molding machines and twenty employees.

In the early 1980's there was a great demand for tamper evidency in the packaging world; we purchased 1 and 2 up lining machines. Adding this feature proved very profitable and in the mid 1980's we added jars to our line of closures, purchased land and a 10,000 square foot warehouse. Various styles of continuous thread closures were added and lining capabilities grew tremendously. In the mid 1990's we added Child Resistant Caps (CRC's) to our product line and expanded once again to 150,000 square feet and 160 employees.

Late 1990's - Early 2000 we had grown to 250 employees, 65 injection molding machines, with over a dozen automated packers, 30 lining machines, a very modern tool-room and 270,000 square feet of space. Now 90% of the caps we sell come with liners. As the demand for lined caps continues to be strong we have installed Vision Systems on the lining machines to assist in the quality control process.

Mold-Rite is estimated to be one of the top 30 companies of any size that manufactures rigid plastic caps. As we continue to grow in our 400,000 square foot facility, we have almost 400 employees, 80 injection molding machines, 36 lining machines and 17 decorating machines. Mold-Rite Plastics has maintained its heritage and continues to provide design, engineering and printing services for our customers packaging needs.

August 2010, Irving Place Capital took advantage of the growth potential seen in Mold-Rite Plastics and purchased the company. For more information on Irving Place Capital follow this link: http://www.irvingplacecapital.com/.
