Production Floor Supervisor - NY

Job Description


  • Perform routine safety audits to ensure employee compliance to safety policies and procedures
  • Assume ultimate responsibilities for all Workcell policies, procedures, staffing, personnel performance, asset performance and maintenance across all four shifts
  • Lead, coach, and mentor all Workcell team members
  • Create, adjust, and utilize standard work to engage employees in coaching opportunities
  • Coordinate and lead Tier 2 problem solving events with support groups such as molding, slitting, material handling, maintenance, continuous improvement and tool shop
  • Design and implement methods for utilization of personnel, material, and utilities
  • Complete production reports, purchase orders, material, tool and equipment lists


  • Ability to collaborate across roles and diverse groups; gather and share feedback
  • Ability to plan and manage routine maintenance
  • Strong communication, presentation, planning, and organizational skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Mechanical aptitude


  • Prior experience leading teams
  • Outstanding attendance and work performance record
  • Must be able to have flexible work schedule, which could include nights or weekends
  • Ability to write correspondence and reports
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations, to other supervisors, and in small group settings to employees of his/her department
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiple, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to determine problems if rate is not made on a specific machine
  • Previous experience supervising employees within a manufacturing, military, or industrial environment preferred
